Why is it that the law cannot pertain to ALL members of society. Just some. Some can lie under oath, and it gets ignored by our courts. HOWEVER...the ordinary citizen will go to prison for lying under oath. (Perjury). Perjury is a common practice in Alabama, among "some" of the law enforcement officials and judges, as well. I think that the legislative branch should make it MANDATORY that all public officials who lie under oath, should have to answer to the court system. Wouldn't it be more "fair and balanced" to see the public officials held to accountability? I, for one, would like to see that happen. If you know of a story where public officials are getting by with breaking the law...please post on here.

I can't think of a specific story right now Deb----but our justice system is so screwed up ---and judges these days judge not by the law but by their own convictions or selfish interests (which is not supposed to happen).
Some people --not just public officials, but many times, people with MONEY, get off whereas others get sent to jail for doing almost nothing at all. Makes no sense.
We have a constitution to follow. We choose these judges to follow that. Many of them (even the Supreme Court ones) don't. They follow their own selfish political beliefs be that right or wrong.
We do live in a crazy country...

How true, Betsy. I'm glad you see things as they are. Some people keep their heads in a cloud and just ignore what is going on around them. I choose to acknowledge what's in my surroundings...and to learn what choices I have to try to make things better...Brings me back to Michael Jackson's song...with the words, "Make it a better place for you and for me".
