FAITH RESCUE MISSION...PRATTVILLE, ALABAMA
ANOTHER one of my favorite stores, is Faith Rescue Mission of Prattville. (branch of Montgomery based Faith Rescue Mission). Years ago we used to patronize the Montgomery, Bell Street Faith Rescue Mission, and were pleasantly surprised when they opened a branch in Prattville! Many of my ebay sales items came from Faith. (as well as Salvation Army)...Yard sale adventures are still as exciting to me now as they were 30 years ago. Shhhhhhhhh, telling my age now LOL.
PRATTVILLE SALVATION ARMY...PLEASE SUPPORT!
One place I enjoy SO MUCH is the Salvation Army. I find so many neat things, and enjoy the people that I run across while shopping. Not only can I find great things for my antique booths, but I can also help others by spending money with the Salvation Army. Right before Christmas, I took this picture of the lady that runs one of the Salvation Army stores in Prattville, along with her grandchildren. She runs a very clean and functional store.

ROBERTA FRANKLIN HELPING CHILDREN OF INMATES
I'm so proud of my friend Roberta Franklin for her dedication to children of incarcerated men and women. At Christmas time, Roberta gathers up Christmas gifts for the children, who might not have gifts, otherwise. If you would like to help Roberta, please contact her, or I'd be glad to pass the information on to her for you.
BALLOON CARRIES OFF $12,000 ENGAGEMENT RING. TALK ABOUT MONEY WOES!!
A little bit of humor to pick you up, if you are suffering money troubles. Lefkos-Hajji learned the hard way that helium could be more costly that he could have ever imagined. He had just purchased an engagement ring for his girlfriend, and placed it in a balloon filled with helium. When he stepped outside of the jewelry store, his balloon ensemble took off with a gust of wind. OMG...can you imagine how horrified he must have been? He chased it for a couple of miles, but lost sight of it.

HAPPY NEW YEAR AMERICAN TROOPS!!
Christmas has past, but we are to love and respect our fellow man always. God Bless our American troops...our men and women who are either here in America protecting us, or in other countries, going through so much trauma just to keep us safe here in America. My nephew is in Iraq and I pray for him daily as I do all the troops. HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!! CHRISTMAS CARD TO ALL
I received this beautiful card in email, and wanted to share it with all of you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. It means a lot to me, because I have a dog and a cat, and reminds me of the Christmas carolers I used to see in Virginia.

ADAM WALSH CASE SETTLED/ CAYLEE ANTHONY'S REMAINS IDENTIFIED
First of all, I just want to announce that we have a forum. Just go to http://alabamapolitics.netdiscussion.net/index.htm to access it.
This case has followed us for years, and I know it certainly influenced me as to how I watched over my children when they were small. Maybe you could say I was over protective after the terrible tragedy of Adam Walsh. It was heart wrenching to watch John Walsh and his wife talk about their tragedy and the loss of their little boy, come to some kind of conclusion, with the announcement of the killer of their little Adam.
Also just as heart wrenching, were the revealing facts that the remains that were found last week in Florida, were the remains of little Caylee Anthony. So horrible. I can't imagine why anyone could hurt children like this. Just really hurts you to know it.
God Bless all of these families, and may they find a sense of closure to their pain. The hurt will never go away.

I'M DREAMING OF A WHITE CHRISTMAS!
It's ok to dream of snow, isn't it? I used to play in the snow, have snow ball fights, sleigh ride, make snow cones, etc. when I lived in Virginia. Somehow the snow represents the pure side of our lives. The blankets of white are comforting, and refreshing. Nostalgia has always carried me back in time to Virginia, kind of like, "Carry Me back to Ole Virginny", or "Take Me Home, Country Roads". Somehow these two songs remind me of "Over the River and Through The Woods, to Grandmother's House We Go". Do you not get the picture of horses pulling carriages and sleighs through snow drifts? Oh well, enough said about snow! LOL. More than likely, what we will get here in Alabama, will be rain, or just plain cold without the snow. I STILL praise God for the things we have to be so thankful for...for life, children, for the peace that prayer brings. For the love of our families, friends and loved ones. May God bring you peace and tranquility in your lives over Christmas, and may you have "snow" filled thoughts that bring you back to your childhood.
