Harri Anne Smith vs. Jay Love

Good morning, all. Just wanted to get your take on the Harri Anne Smith vs. Jay Love race for Congress. I actually support Harri Anne Smith, (she is woman, hear her roar lol). What has Jay Love done other than raise taxes? I would like to hear from Jay Love's campaign group concerning the ads I have viewed on television, and would like to know which are true and which are false. I am starting to get really confused about WHICH is the better candidate. Isn't that how politics is supposed to be though? CONFUSING? I mean, it's "he said, she said, or he did, she did, or MAYBE they didn't do anything at all??? ROFLMAO!!!!! I'm still not even sure WHICH of the two accepted the HUGH pay raise of 62 % (or was it 67?). Correct me here if I'm wrong. That is something I don't like to be, is WRONG...OK...waiting for a reply. Hurry Hurry.

Love and Smith are both terrible. You have a choice between "the Subway guy" who has done nothing for Alabama or the woman from Slocumb where they grow "big 'maters" who has done nothing for the state. I wouldn't call myself a Bobby Bright fan, but geeez, considering he's going to be running against either "dumb" or "dumber," he might get my vote.

Yup. Why limit yourself to Republican candidates?

I'm not thrilled about any of the candidates, but I intend to vote for the least of three evils.

Thanks for replying, VoiceOfReason, and Jayhey.

To Voice of Reason, why do you think that Bobby Bright would be the best candidate?

To Jayhey, This website is really for both parties. I am not stating a specific party leaning. I am interested in who others are voting for, and why. Why do you think that Bobby Bright is the better candidate? Remember, he did marry into the Clardy clan.

I don't know what the "Clardy Clan" has to do with it. (Is it like the Hatfields and the McCoys?)

I'm not enthusiastic about Notso. If he wins the election, he's going to switch right back to the Republican party. He's a DINO.

But candidates who try to "out-Jesus" each other definitely turn me off. At least Notso isn't doing that--at least for now.

Jayhey, you are right about the "out Jesus" part. I really don't like when candidates use that as an issue. It makes me want to vote for the other individual. I think they need to stick to what their issues are, and if they are Christian, that will show in their campaigning without the advertising. (Do you remember when Julian McPhillips was campaigning against Susan Parker for Senate, and the commercial showed him at the dinner table praying? (Susan won that nomination). However, "This Little Light Of Mine" helped Chief Justice, Sue Bell Cobb.

Haven't been around Montgomery that long--just three years. Moved to Birmingham in 1996 from Maryland, just when Fob was campaigning.

Culture shock! The successful candidate for Maryland's governor was a PhD University of Maryland professor of government, Parris Glendenning. Then I move here and see the skunk ads, the "too liberal for Alabama" ads. Oy veh!

As for Julian McPhillips--he's an Episcopalian. (So am I.) An Episcopal church service is about two-thirds prayer.

It seems to me that the only candidate of the three left for the AL2 seat who has really repeated ad nauseam his Christianity claim is Jay Love, although I could be wrong because I don’t pay much attention to political ads.
There’s possibly a majority of people in and around Montgomery County who know Bright’s record who would say this three-way campaign is “dumb” vs. “dumber” to see who will face off with “dumbest”.

Is there any way to eliminate the WORD VERIFICATION in order to post a comment? It's annoying, and sometimes the letters are difficult to read.

You stole my phrase, JayHey! ("out-Jesus") I demand royalties! ;)

Yes, this is "Capcityfreepress."

And Deb, I also remember from the Parker/McPhillips race when during a debate McPhillips had the unbelievable, inexcusable nerve to say that Parker wasn't equipped to address issues pertaining to children because, "...she doesn't have any."

capcitypress, I remember that happening to Susan, and it happened TWICE. I stood up for Susan back then, and supported her as well. The whole issue about the children, was that Susan had suffered from miscarriages. Julian knew that, and still did the same thing a second time.

Don, I do not know of any other way to delete the word verification. I haven't been home much, but I will try tomorrow, to put those two links on.
