The Press Register in Mobile says that 91 former State Attorney Generals from all over the United States, are advocating for former Governor of Alabama, Don Siegelman. Most contend that his conviction was politically motivated. In July of 2007, 44 former State Attorney Generals were asking for an investigation into Don's case. (through signed letter to Congress). "It's an awesome statement," said Robert Abrams, former Democratic attorney general of New York. "Never before, in the history of this nation, have former attorneys general banded together in unity before the courts of this country in such great number."

I don't know anything about this case, Deb, but I always wonder what has happened to HONESTY when it comes to any of our elected officials--whether they are Democrats or Republicans.. Seems like there is alot of dishonesty in all govt. forms. What a shame.
Hugs,
Betsy
They should back Don Sieglman, I think he is innocent of the charges. Don is a good man and should not be punished for others who have broken the law. Governor Don Siegelman was indicted along with Dr. BoBo (Tuscaloosa) and Paul Michael Hamrick (Montgomery) in Federal Court. None of it makes sense, and Mark Fuller certainly shouldn't have presided over Siegelman's case due to the conflict involved. Don deserves a new trial...

Betsy and Brandy, I believe in Don Siegelman. He's a good man.
i don't know anything about his case either, but here in nc, i've been reading about cases of false imprisonments or whatever they're called. it is terrible to be convicted for something one didn't do. what a load on one's shoulders, and definitely, what a shame for the justice department. good luck to him!
