TORNADOS BROUGHT DISASTER AND SADNESS TO ALABAMA

The state of Alabama has suffered a great hardship from the turmoil and disaster that occurred when over 30 tornados swept through our state on Friday and early Saturday morning.  3 people in the Willard Hollon family lost their lives, including Willard, his son Steve, and his daughter Cheryl.  The Boones Chapel Church in our Pine Level Community suffered great devastation to their church, as well as several homes in the area.  Trees and power lines down...just a horrible disaster. Our prayers go out to the families who were affected by this storm, and our deepest sympathies go out to the Hollon family for their great sadness and loss.  http://www.waka.com/news/6877-three-killed-in-autauga-co-storm-damage.html

WAKA Meteorologist Ashley McDonald really did a terrific job covering the severe weather...her updates were up to the minute, and I felt they were thorough.

More on the damage coverage...and Governor Robert Bentley's visit to Boones Chapel Church to survey the damage..  http://www.wsfa.com/Global/story.asp?S=14461216
