THESE are the stories that keep me fighting for JUDICIAL REFORM. http://www.aolnews.com/nation/article/exonerated-man-accuser-forge-rare-bond/19348848?icid=main|htmlws-main-n|dl3|link3|http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aolnews.com%2Fnation%2Farticle%2Fexonerated-man-accuser-forge-rare-bond%2F19348848
After 14 years in prison for a rape he didn't commit, Dean Cage was set free after DNA testing cleared him of the crme.
"He was determined to start a new life with his family. He hadn't been able to be the husband, father and son he wanted to be during his years in prison. He had postponed wedding his fiance and missed his sons' graduations. When his elderly mother fell ill, he couldn't care for her."
The woman who was raped also couldn't believe that Dean was set free. She was sure he was the rapist.
"She was angry at her attacker. She spent years in counseling sessions that ate away at her family's savings. She managed to graduate from high school, and then college, despite the nightmares that disturbed her sleep. The sexual assault affected her relationships with her stepfather and her husband. It was hard to trust men, even her four little boys."
BOTH of the lives of Loretta Zilinger and Dean Cage were changed when they appeared on Dr. Phil ...Both of them attended the show not knowing they were going to see the other one. However, they met, and now plan to start an organization "to educate groups about wrongful convictions and spread their message of forgiveness."
The story also has another happy ending...Dean Cage plans to marry his fiance this May, (that he has been waiting for, for 16 years), and Loretta is invited!

Wish we had have had DNA 'way' back then--don't you, Deb???? I'm sorry that innocent men/women are sent to prison.
How are you??? We are fine --but ready for spring and some SUNSHINE.
Hugs,
Betsy
I wish we had too...so many people have been affected adversely because of DNA...and the lack of testing thereof...How are you and George?? I'm still looking forward to seeing you in the spring :) love you!
Dr, Phil acted unethically if he really brought the two together on TV without previously getting their agreement.
He's an ambulance chaser. When Britney Spears had her meltdown, he was there in a flash.
