DON'T BLAME ME IF YOU DON'T VOTE!!!!

I am a strong advocate of VOTING RIGHTS. It is not fair for me to listen to you complain and grunt if the political field stays the same it has for years. If you don't vote, or if you don't get out there and campaign for someone, or if you just sit at home and twiddle your thumbs, you don't have a right to complain about our economy, gas prices, hospital rates, insurance rates, Judicial rulings, etc. GO VOTE....IT'S YOUR RIGHT.

As our right, you would think we would all want to exercise our right to vote! People don't realize the importance that politics plays in everyday life. Politics has a play in the school systems; AEA, (a.k.a. Alabama Education Association) and Paul Hubbert invest thousands in political campaigns), the medical field (hospitals, pharmacys, etc). Everything we do is just about political. The environmental issues are political. Most insurance companies have something to do with politics. Your utility companies are political. Just look at the money that Alabama Power pours into candidates. Gambling is political. Look at how much money Milton McGregor invests in politicians. The Judicial system is political. Take a look at how much money Chief Justice Sue Bell Cobb brought into her campaign. Religions have become political. (Judge Roy Moore and the 10 Commandments episodes). The preachers that have shows on television, are ALL political. (Coral Ridge Ministries, etc). The television networks are political. The radio stations are political. The NEWSPAPERS are definitely political and biased. SO WHY DOES THE MAJOR POPULATION OF ALABAMA NOT GO VOTE?????? It's our duty!!! Don't forget to go vote tomorrow. I know I will be at the polls! See ya there.

It's a REPUBLICAN primary, Deb.

I'm not a Republican, so I won't be there.

ok, I'll give you permission not to vote LOL..However, I am a Republican (thanks to the Democrat party and others in it). I used to be a very devoted Democrat, but they didn't seem to appreciate me. So, here I am, a REPUBLICAN. Fancy that? I would have run in the Republican primary this year, but the local party only wanted to take my 400 plus dollars, and they couldn't guarantee me that I would be on the ballot. SO! I, being a business woman, did NOT go there. I did NOT give them a penny, being that someone was waiting in the wings to contest me, as soon as I would sign up. (was told that by a top election's official in the county).

Aha! That's Alabama politics. I despise both parties for their lack of ethics.

A legislature that cannot remove the sales tax on groceries, and which connives to keep poor people in poverty, does not have my respect.

I find myself voting for the least objectionable candidate. Not a good way to do business.

My personal theory is that a vote for the lesser of two evils is still a vote for evil. That’s why I sent a letter to the editor to several Alabama newspapers, and as far as I know it was most recently published in the Montgomery Advertiser @ http://www.montgomeryadvertiser.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080713/OPINION02/807110347/1006/OPINION.
