D.C.SNIPER, JOHN MUHAMMAD EXECUTED..PRONOUNCED DEAD AT "911"

>How ironic is that for D.C. Sniper John Muhammad to die at exactly "911"?  Some people say that numbers have meaning, and in the Bible, numbers were used in many passages.  I was watching CNN last night, when the press came out and stated the details of John Muhammad before he was executed.   They watched as he "staggered" out, being assisted to walk by the prison personnel.  He did not have any last comments to the family members of the victims who were killed in his trail of terror.  I feel badly for his children, for his ex-wife, and for the victims of the terrible cross-country rampage.

Some were curious as to if Muhammad was sedated before he was executed.  One of the prison personnel that has witnessed executions in another place, said that 13 of the prisoners that he was involved with walking to the death chamber, were offered Valium, but none of them took it.  Lethal Injection is still a prominent issue among the death penalty activists.  If you have any comments to make...concerning John Muhammad, his victims, or the death penalty, I'd like for you to voice them here. http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/11/11/virginia.sniper.execution/index.html

Muhammad was executed for the killing of Dean Meyer who was shot in the head at a Manassas, Virginia gas station.  http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091111/ap_on_re_us/us_sniper_execution;_ylt=AuHt9d3W257EEn3ybO_3XVGs0NUE;_ylu=X3oDMTM1b2lqNzE0BGFzc2V0A2FwLzIwMDkxMTExL3VzX3NuaXBlcl9leGVjdXRpb24EY3BvcwM2BHBvcwMzBHB0A2hvbWVfY29rZQRzZWMDeW5faGVhZGxpbmVfbGlzdARzbGsDZGVmaWFudGRjc25p

I am one of those in FAVOR of Capital Punishment---and wish it would happen more often (to someone who has committed such horrible crimes). Our prisons are full of horrible criminals --which we (the taxpayers) take care of for life. Bet there'd be many less crimes IF the criminals knew that they would be killed if sent to prison. This is cruel I know--and it's hard for me as a Christian to say. I can 'forgive' someone who harms me or my family or friends. BUT--I just hate to see these hard criminals living well in our prisons... I guess the issue for me is not that I want that criminal dead... I just don't want to pay to help keep him alive. Understand?????

Hugs,
Betsy

Betsy, I TOTALLY understand where you are coming from :) Noone likes to pay to house criminals. I believe that this was a warranted execution, also.
