SUSAN PARKER TO RUN FOR STATE PSC AGAIN (Jan Cook too)

State Public Service Commissioner, Susan Parker has put to rest any questions about her running for Lieutenant Governor in 2010. She feels the most important place for her to be, is on the PSC.

"I don't mean to put the lieutenant governor down, but this is the most important job in Alabama right now," Mrs. Parker said.

It wasn't long ago, that Susan Parker had considered a run for the position in U.S. Congress that former Mayor of Montgomery, Bobby Bright holds. The Montgomery Advertiser reported that Susan was in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday to meet with Steven Chu (President Obama's new energy secretary). (My conclusions are that Susan Parker really wants to be in Washington, period).

Parker said that "energy issues" are in the minds of people now, and are hitting their pocketbooks. However, it wasn't long ago, that Susan Parker voted along with her 2 other fellow PSC Commissioners, to give a raise to Alabama Power, which I would think affects MANY people in Alabama. I know many Alabama Power customers that were directly affected by this "raise" on their monthly power bills, and not in a positive manner! Maybe we should encourage Susan to run for Lieutenant Governor....
