Man Leaves Behind Home, Girlfriend, Job, to find Peace in Traveling the World!

What an exciting journey!  I cannot imagine anything more exciting than traveling around the world.  I've always wanted to go to Switzerland, or Paris, France, or Vienna, or IRELAND...Everytime I see the Irish landscapes, I want to jump in the car, drive to an airport, (oops, no, I would hate to fly)...I guess I'd  have to ride a boat LOL.. But anyway, you get the drift.  Travel is something my mother loved doing as well.  She went to all 50 states...including Alaska, and Hawaii during her senior years.  She always joked, "I'm spending my kids' inheritance", and I used to tell her,  "go ahead Mother, you deserve it.  Travel, have fun!!"  I remember when she flew to Hawaii with 2 of her sisters and had the ball of her life.  She never wore make up but when she came back, she had rouge and lipstick on, which really shocked me.  As a preacher's wife, I can only remember her wearing powder, and that was it.  She and my Dad traveled to Alaska one year, and they thoroughly enjoyed the trip.  My father would have gone to Hawaii with her, but he opted out, because he is afraid of flying, like I am.  He probably really missed a fantastic time.  I still have all the Hawaii pictures my mother took, and the beautiful postcards and souveniors she brought back.

So...I say to you, if you can travel...then TRAVEL.  See the world, and good luck to Nicholas Rapp as he starts out on his fantastic and exciting adventure!  http://autos.aol.com/article/driving-around-world?icid=main|htmlws-main-n|dl4|link3|http%3A%2F%2Fautos.aol.com%2Farticle%2Fdriving-around-world

Chastity Bono...now "Chaz"...Interesting Transformation

I would like to know what others' opinions are about Chastity Bono having operations to turn herself into the now, "Chaz Bono".  She was a beautiful girl, as a child, and I have continued to follow her journey through  her life, as she turned Lesbian, and then decided to change her sex to male.  http://www.popeater.com/2009/10/29/chaz-bono-entertainment-tonight-interview?icid=main|htmlws-main-n|dl2|link3|http%3A%2F%2Fwww.popeater.com%2F2009%2F10%2F29%2Fchaz-bono-entertainment-tonight-interview

I have no problem with her change, and I believe that her mother Cher, has stated she is supportive of her.  I have to wonder, though, what it would be like to be a parent and to have your child decide to make this journey.  Tough decisions, and tough aftermath.  I wish Chaz all the happiness that life has to offer.

Abandoned Animals in Mobile County Getting Assistance From Mobile County Commission

http://blog.al.com/live/2009/10/mobile_county_commission_speed.html

Former Mobile County Judge Herman Thomas ACQUITTED Of All Charges!

http://blog.al.com/live/2009/10/update_herman_thomas_acquitted.html

"MOBILE, Ala. -- Former Mobile County Circuit Judge Herman Thomas, who was accused of paddling and sexually abusing young men who were facing jail time, was acquitted Monday on all charges after jurors deadlocked on most of the allegations against him."

After the verdict, Special appointed Judge Claud Neilson  ruled that Former Judge Thomas was also not guilty of the remaining 14 charges that the 5 man, 7 woman jury could not reach a unanimous decision on.  Judge Herman Thomas stepped down from the bench back in 2007 after claims that Thomas had "paddled or spanked with a belt 11  young men for sexual gratification and, in exchange, showed them leniency."

Mobile District Attorney, John Tyson, Jr., was very disappointed with the ruling.  Judge Herman Thomas had many supporters who were quite happy with the ruling.

TROY KING LOSES SUPPORT OF JEFF SESSIONS & RICHARD SHELBY

Looks like Luther Strange has the Alabama Senators on  his side.  Sessions and Shelby are backing Luther Strange for Attorney General of Alabama over Troy King, whom they have backed in the past.  Just 3 years ago, Shelby and Sessions helped elect Troy King.

"This is a sign of just how alienated Troy King has become from the Republican establishment," said David Lanoue, chairman of the political science department at the University of Alabama. "This is pretty extraordinary." http://www.al.com/politics/birminghamnews/index.ssf?/base/news/12561129384630.xml&coll=2

VIRGINIA'S GOVERNOR RACE...BRINGS VIEWS OF DISCRIMINATION AGAINST WOMEN

I think I can speak for Virginia, since that is where I am from, and lived there many years.  Two individuals who are running for Governor of Virginia, have very drastic views of women in the workplace, and women in general.  Here is one of the blogs that I frequent, and they had a great article today....hope you will take the time to read it!  http://www.leftinalabama.com/diary/4974/womens-call-night-for-virginia-gov-race

Back to the candidates running for Governor.

“Working women and feminists are detrimental to the family”  This is what Bob McDonnell stated in his Masters' Thesis while attending the Pat Robertson Regent University.  Bob is running for Governor on the Republican ticket.  "While in the legislature, Bob McDonnell also voted against equal pay for women for equal work and introduced or co-sponsored over 35 pieces of legislation to restrict a woman’s right to choose – even in the case of incest or rape." (courtesy of Left In Alabama).

On the other hand, Creigh Deeds, is the Democrat candidate with ABSOLUTELY different views on women.  Here is Deed's website for Governor of Virginia.  http://www.deedsforvirginia.com/

Little 7 year old Somer Thompson's Body Found in a Landfill

http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/10/22/georgia.landfill.body/index.html

There is a question that EVERY parent must ask themselves.  How could someone murder a child and discard their body like trash.  IT'S HORRIBLE.  This is exactly what happened to Somer Thompson.  The same exact thing happened to Shannon Nicole Paulk in Prattville.  They have never found Shannon's killer.  We must pray that the killers of both of these girls are found.  Ever be vigilant with your children!

Adult BookStore Post brings NASTY remarks from Huntsville Wannabes

I had NO IDEA that the TellThatBully group would be so ugly about this post.  I guess they really liked it.  (otherwise why would they be so jealous about ordinary comments?).  Look at the silly comment made by the bully group owner.  I mean, honestly.  It's so juvenile.

BamaKrissy said...

Little tip to DM. If you are going to be in public eye like running for office. Never ever discuss sex toys or admit you hang out in adult bookstores. It makes you look trashy: "I have never seen anything like that in an adult bookstore"

October 20, 2009 6:05 PM

Let me make myself clear.  I consider ANY bookstore, an adult bookstore. If you are talking about a store that sells  nasty magazines, then you are mistaken about me.   (You can pick up girlie mags at gas stations).  I don't frequent ANY bookstores, actually other than Books A Million, but I used to travel to Christian book centers with my dad years ago.  I should clear that up for the ones who think they know it all.  I don't have time to read books.

As for sex toys?  I wrote a post about a clothing store that was selling more than just women's clothing.  Evidently you don't see the humor in things.  I do.  As for trashy?  Think again.  I am anything but trashy.  I conducted every single campaign with dignity and respect.

If you think you insulted me?  Think again.  MOST  people who read your "bully blog" are the people who have trashy and  filthy minds.  I read it to gain insight as to what you crazy people are up to, concerning my family.  It is an informative tool for me, not entertainment, I promise you.  The filth that you allow on your blog, BK, is something  you won't see on mine.

Kelli Wise Running for Alabama Supreme Court Seat

http://blog.al.com/spotnews/2009/10/appeals_judge_kelli_wise_seeks.htm

Kelli Wise is seeking the Republican  nomination for the Alabama Supreme Court seat currently held by Patti Smith. Patti is not running for re-election.

New Women's "Clothing Store" has City Officials in Uproar!

A new business has opened up in East Alabama, and it has a few city officials a little disturbed.  It appears that Kallis not only sells WOMEN'S CLOTHING, but also women's toys.

"According to city records, a business license was issued Sept. 16 for a women’s clothing store, doing business as “Kalli’s,” at 1639 So. College St. The issue isn’t Kalli’s selection of lingerie, costumes, hosiery, shoes and boots in the store’s main showroom. It’s the business’ assortment of sex toys, including vibrators, that are located in a restricted area of the store."

I know that some of the council members are upset about this store, but WHY?  I still don't  understand why this has to be such an issue.  I also noticed that the article did not have any women complaining about the items being sold.    (just men, lol).  What are your views on the sale of  these "questionable" toys?

Several Candidates attend HUNTSVILLE Republican Barbecue

http://blog.al.com/breaking/2009/10/roy_moore_bill_johnson_among_d.html

Roy Moore and Bill Johnson attended the Barbecue.  State Representative Mike Ball (also a Republican) got the crowd fired up, when he stated, "Democrats are scared to death".  What, actually, are the Democrats scared to death of, Mike?  It would be nice to have you weigh in, and inform our readers of what you believe the Dems are afraid of.

Halloween...do you celebrate it?

Here is a link about Halloween.  I know that people get caught up in the excitement of trick or treating, and some churches go out and collect canned goods for the poor and needy (which I used to do years ago in Virginia, for Halloween).  However, I also know that right after Halloween is over, the flus start setting in, and kids get sick from eating so much candy.

What I'm talking about is the pagan aspect of Halloween.  I think it's a great idea that a lot of churches offer programs for children to keep them off of the streets.

The history of Halloween dates back 2000 years ago,  in Ireland.  Halloween is an ancient "Celtic" festival of Samhain.  They lived in Ireland, The United Kingdom, and France.  Instead of celebrating the new year on January 1, the Celts celebrated it (Samhain) November 1st.  October 31st, they believed in ghosts,  "when it was believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth. In addition to causing trouble and damaging crops, Celts thought that the presence of the otherworldly spirits made it easier for the Druids, or Celtic priests, to make predictions about the future".   http://www.history.com/content/halloween/real-story-of-halloween .

What are your beliefs about Halloween?  Do you feel it is safe for the kids?  Do you let your kids go trick or treating?  Do you go trick or treating with them?  Do you have a special CHURCH EVENT that you would like others to know about?  Just let me know about your event, and I'll be glad to post it here.  Have a safe month!

TASED GRANNY WINS LAWSUIT!!

Okay, this granny CERTAINLY had spunk!  She was tased TWICE by a Texas Constable and still has her sense of humor intact!

Matt Lauer interviewed  Great Granny,  Kathryn  Winkfein on the TODAY show,  and got some pretty humorous comments out of Kathryn.

It all started when the 72 year old granny, (only 4' 11") was stopped for going 60 mph in a 45 mph construction zone.  When the Sheriff's Constable asked "granny" to sign the ticket promising to be in court, she shot back with, "Take me to jail. Go on, take me to jail — a 72-year-old woman!”  Things got out of hand after that.  The constable threatened to tase her, so good ole spunky granny said, "“Go ahead, Tase me!”  Well, HE DID.  (TWICE).    "Granny" sued, and settled out of court for $40,000.

What I thought was cute, was when Matt lauer asked "Granny" if she might have been a little bit argumentive with the constable, she replied, "“I told what I remembered,”...“When he Tased me and kept it on and it threw me to the ground, that erased all memory".  what a hilarious Grandma!

Meeting in the Park was a SUCCESS!!

Several people attended the Meeting In The Park today, for Judicial Reform.  The people who came represented all 3 counties of the 19th Judicial Circuit.  Brandy Knight, Coordinator of the meeting, was very pleased with the turnout, as was I.  We have several pictures to share with you, but will be posting the stories either tomorrow or the next day, depending on when the final drafts are ready.

The rain held off for us today, and we even saw some sun shining through the clouds.   What a great day!  In attendance, were two individuals who were former candidates for sheriff in two separate counties of the 19th Judicial Circuit, and one individual who is running for Coroner of Chilton County.  We even had a guest come from as far away as Jefferson County!  The Clanton Advertiser even had an article on the front page concerning Brandy's Meeting in the Park... http://clantonadvertiser.com/news/2009/oct/09/rally-will-focus-judicial-system/#comments

We decided in unison that we will continue to hold our meetings, and try to conduct them about once a month in one of the 3 19th Judicial Circuit Counties. The county of choice for November will be announced at a later day.  We will keep you posted.

We are proud of the response we had today..and of the group we  have formed.  If you have any suggestions, or would like to join our group, please contact Brandy Knight (Fair Justice) or me, here at my blog.

Dentist Kim Kornegay in Prattville Protesting Liquor License Ordered by Judge John Bush

I found this to be quite interesting!   A Prattville dentist, Kim Kornegay is protesting Circuit Judge John Bush's decision to grant a liquor license to Hiro Koda's new business in Prattville,  CLUB BTS.

Hiro Koda was denied a license through the Prattville City Council, and had appealed to Autauga County Circuit Court.  Circuit Court Judge, John Bush granted the liquor license, and Hiro Koda plans to open up his club on Sunday afternoon.   I say Kudos to Judge John Bush for his decision.

I have noticed that there have been other owners in the past in the Autauga County/Prattville area who have been denied liquor licenses, and it stifled their businesses.  Are we not supposed to support local businesses, and want them to thrive?  This is not a religious decision for one to make.  I welcome any and all posts concerning this issue...even anonymous, unless they are hateful and spiteful.  Attacking someone's character is not the answer here.  I want to hear REAL opinions of why or why not Judge Bush should have ruled the way he did.  I want to hear REAL opinions, also, of why or why not the council denied the liquor license.

NASA AND THE MOON

Found this interesting link from back in June about the moon and scientists.  Does anyone have an update on this.  Seems this is the first I have heard about it, but then again, I don't stay up to date with the galaxy except watching the stars, moon, sun, etc.  Tell me what you have heard about this article.  Was quite intriguing.  http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=nasas-mission-to-bomb-the-moon-2009-06

Meeting in the Park, THIS SATURDAY, Clanton City Park, 1:00 p.m. BE THERE!

My good friend Brandy (  http://knight-fairjustice.blogspot.com/ )      has scheduled the Meeting in the Park (about the 19th Judicial Circuit and those who are concerned and want to improve the Circuit), for this coming Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 1:00, Clanton City Park, (right behind Freds).  You turn left into a small driveway, which I believe is Park Drive, right before you get to the light.  Several have mentioned an interest in attending this meeting.  The City of Clanton has given us permission to hold the meeting. News media  has contacted Brandy and expressed an interest in covering the meeting.   If you are a concerned citizen of the 19th Judicial Circuit (Chilton, Elmore, and Autauga County), then you should plan to attend and visit with other like minded citizens who wish to make the circuit a better one for all.

91 former State Attorney Generals Backing Don Siegelman!

http://www.al.com/news/press-register/metro.ssf?/base/news/125473410999440.xml&coll=3

The Press Register in Mobile says that 91 former State Attorney Generals from all over the United States, are advocating for former Governor of Alabama, Don Siegelman.  Most contend that his conviction was politically motivated.  In July of 2007, 44 former State Attorney Generals were asking for an investigation into Don's case. (through signed letter to Congress).  "It's an awesome statement," said Robert Abrams, former Democratic attorney general of New York. "Never before, in the history of this nation, have former attorneys general banded together in unity before the courts of this country in such great number."

WOMAN GETTING PLASTIC SURGERY..NOW BRAIN DEAD

A nurse and mother of 3 in Florida is brain dead and on life support after suffering complications from an "anti-cellulite treatment".  What the heck!  Another reason I stay clear of things like that.  http://www.aolhealth.com/condition-center/plastic-cosmetic-surgery/life-support-minor-cosmetic-procedure?icid=main|htmlws-main|dl3|link3|http%3A%2F%2Fwww.aolhealth.com%2Fcondition-center%2Fplastic-cosmetic-surgery%2Flife-support-minor-cosmetic-procedure

I have heard of this happening on several occasions...where a woman would go in for plastic surgery and then either become very ill, go into a coma, or die.  Kanye West's mom died because of plastic surgery.  http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21742159/

Please consider the consequences and after effects of plastic surgery before you attempt to get any type of treatment performed.  Surgery does not always turn out like you want it to.  I'm sure this case was one in a million, but it does happen.

The Broward County Sheriff's Department is investigating this case.

11 ALABAMIANS HAVE DIED FROM SWINE FLU

3 more have died in Alabama from Swine Flu, bringing the total to 11 so far.  "a man in his 60s from Talladega County, a woman in her 50s from Madison County and a woman in her 70s from Jackson County. "

As you can see, different ages, and all of these people were 50 and above.  Alabama is supposed to receive it's first shipment of the vaccines for H1N1 next week.  Alabama will be receiving 45,000 doses of the Nasal Spray to begin with.  The shots come later.  WASH YOUR HANDS RELIGIOUSLY!!!  I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder of washing my hands, and I'm glad I do.  It's important to wash hands frequently to cut down on getting colds and viruses.  Also, viruses enter the body through the nose as well as the mouth, so the Nasal Spray should help combat this virus.  Also, I believe it's important to stay away from crowds of people.  The more people you are around, the higher your chances are of catching any kind of flu.  http://blog.al.com/spotnews/2009/10/three_more_alabama_swine_flu_v.html
